TANGIPAHOA—The Amite Lady Warriors and Kentwood Lady Roos advanced to the finals of the annual Sumner Cowboy Classic in prep action Friday night. On the boys’ side, the Kentwood boys fell to Pine 62-44.

LADY WARRIORS vs. LADY RAIDERS
    The Amite Ladies overcame a 21-18 halftime deficit to outscore Pine 30-14 in the final two periods to earn a

decisive 58-35 victory and a ticket to the finals. Brittany Wood paced the Lady Warriors with 21 points, while teammates Anita McKnight, Partheana Dillion and Narcella Chandler each added nine for the winners. Paren Luper was tops for the Lady Raider with 10.

ROOS vs. RAIDERS
    After a slow start for both teams in the first period, Pine’s Victor Magee scored 10 of his 18 game-high points in the second period to help the Raiders pull away from the Roos taking a 33-16 halftime lead. The Roos pulled to within ten twice in the second half but could not get closer as Pine cruised to a 62-44 win and a date with Amite in the finals. Ryan Williams and Alfred Franklin each had 11 points for the Roos.

LADY ROOS vs. COWGIRLS
    The sister duo of Romeka and Talash Robertson combined for 34 points to rout the Sumner Cowgirls and advance to the finals against Amite. The Lady Roos jumped out to an 11-2 first period lead and never looked back as R. Robertson scored six of her game high 23 points in the opening period. For Sumner, Keandre James and Hillary Schockey had seven and six point respectively.
