HAMMOND—The Hammond Lady Tor 5A Roundup concluded with a trio of games. The first contest featured the host Hammond High Lady Tornadoes dropping a hard fought 46-43 decision to the St. Amant Lady Gators.
    Hammond slipped out to a 13-12 first quarter lead and

then outscored St. Amant 11-6 in the second period to take a 24-18 advantage at the half. But St. Amant stormed back in the third quarter. The Lady Gators opened the period with a 6-1 run and finished the quarter outgunning Hammond 18-8 to take a 36-32 lead entering the fourth period.
    Hammond tried to cut into the deficit but St. Amant would answer with key baskets down the stretch to secure the win. The Lady Tors outscored St. Amant 11-10 in the fourth quarter, but the Lady Gators had too much of a lead for Hammond to overcome. Jasmine Manuel led the Lady Tors in scoring with 17 points, followed by Julia Jackson with 11 and Becky Davis added nine points. Christy Pinestraw finishedwith four points for Hammond which concluded Roundup play with a 1-2mark. St. Amant was led by Shayla Boyd with 21 points, followed by Bria Turner with eight and Regan Denham added seven points. The Lady Gators finished Roundup play with a 2-1 record.
    East St. John knocked off Fontainebleau in the second of three games played Friday evening. The Lady Wildcats captured a 52-32 victory to finish with a 2-1 mark in Roundup play.
    East St. John jumped out to a 12-9 first quarter lead. But Fontainebleau outgunned the Lady Wildcats 11-10 in the second period to trail 22-20 at the half. The Lady Bulldogs moved ahead for the first time in the third quarter and outscored East St. John 8-5 in the period to make it 28-27 entering the final period. But the Lady Wildcats went to full-court pressure defense and forced the Lady Bulldogs into numerous turnover and hurried shots. East St. John took advantage and went on an 11-2 run and finished the quarter outscoring Fontainebleau 25-3 to seal the 52-32 victory.
    P. Nelson led East St. John in scoring with 17 points, followed by T. Thomas with 12, including two 3-point goals. A. Fleming added nine points and S. Dent finished with seven. Fontainebleau was led by Lauren Fleming and Cara Wells each with nine points apiece. Kaitlyn Stechmann followed with six and Kelli Billodaux had five points as the Lady Bulldogs ended Roundup play with a 2-1 mark.
    Mandeville went 2-1 in Roundup play with a 58-43 win over Destrehan in the final contest. The Lady Skippers jumped out to an 18-9 first quarter lead and then outscored Destrehan 9-6 in the second period to take a 27-15 advantage at the half. Destrehan cut into the deficit in the third quarter by outgunning Mandeville 15-13 in the period to trail 40-30. But the Lady Skippers maintained their lead in the fourth period by hitting key free throws in the final seconds of the game to seal the win. Sophomore Amie Howard of the Lady Skippers connected on eight of nine free throws in the fourth quarter to help seal the win as Mandeville ended Roundup play with a 2-1 mark.
    Senior Kayla Munsch led the Lady Skippers with 15 points. Senior Sara Short added nine and junior Julia Saari scored six. The Lady Wildcats was led by P. Kight and Tawanna Lee with 12 points apiece. Ladaisha Smith followed with 10 and Paige added King added five points as Destrehan went 0-3 in Roundup play.
